Children, students and senior citizens get discounts on night trains.

Many providers offer free travel for children up to approximately five years of age if they share a place with an adult.

Many vendors offer discounted tickets to young people up to approximately fourteen years of age. Some providers also discount tickets up to around 25 years of age, but a youth discount card from the respective railway operator/country is required.

Students up to 25 years of age receive a discount at some vendors, such as SJ (Sweden), VY (Norway), or ZssK (Czech Republic), on presentation of a valid ID.

Families can book discounted tickets with some vendors, such as ÖBB, with a corresponding discount card.

Senior citizens also receive discounts from many vendors. Depending on the provider, you must only state your age when booking (take your ID when travelling) or have a corresponding discount card.

You can find the discounted prices on nightride.com by selecting the age under ‘Travelers’. Please note: If you choose an offer and book the ticket with the corresponding third-party provider, you must again specify your age/discount category.
