Toilets and washing facilities are available on every night train. However, they vary depending on the night train and comfort category.

Most sleeper coaches have a small washbasin with soap directly in the compartments. Sometimes, you can also book your own toilet and/or shower. Otherwise, there are shared toilets on the coaches. There is also sometimes a shared shower in the coach, or you can shower at the destination station. On nightride.com, we show in the search results which facilities a sleeping coach compartment has.

In couchette coaches and seating coaches, there are usually sinks and toilets in the shared area, which you share with other travellers. You can now also find accessible toilets on many night trains.

It is more likely that toilet problems will occur towards the end of the journey, so go to the toilet sooner rather than later. :)

We also recommend that you carry spare toilet paper or tissues with you. A disinfectant and a small towel never hurt, either. See also our packing list for your night train journey.
